Asia REIT Perspective (hereinafter “we”, website https://www.sgxreit.com) complies with the threefold compliance standards of the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Singapore’s PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act), and Hong Kong’s Privacy Ordinance, fully governing the entire process of personal information collection, use, storage, cross-border transfer, and disclosure, and fully safeguarding the privacy rights and interests of all users from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Southeast Asia. By browsing the website, consulting via WhatsApp, leaving messages, or subscribing to updates, you are deemed to have fully read and agreed to all terms of this Privacy Notice.
1. Scope of information we collect
(1) Personal information you voluntarily submit
Information proactively entered via WhatsApp, on-site messages, or inquiry emails: email address, communication account, and message content;
Information voluntarily provided in submissions, business cooperation, or rights protection scenarios: nickname, contact details, company information, and evidence screenshots;
Supplementary information for REIT news subscriptions (optional, and does not affect free access to market quotes or financial reports).
(2) Non-identifying technical data automatically collected by the website
When visiting sgxreit.com, the system automatically collects data that cannot identify a natural person on its own:
Device information: device model, operating system, browser, and unique device identifier;
Access logs: IP address, access time, pages viewed, click trail, page dwell time, and source of external redirects;
Local Cookie cache: stores reading preferences and subscription status; you may disable Cookies in your browser, and once disabled, personalized REIT recommendation features will stop working.
(3) Sensitive privacy information is not collected mandatorily
We will not proactively request sensitive data such as ID cards, passports, bank cards, or home addresses; such information will only be retained if you voluntarily provide it for cross-border business or rights protection purposes, and there is no mandatory collection.
2. Permitted lawful uses of information
Without your separate written authorization, we will not expand the scope of use and will use information only in lawful and necessary scenarios:
Basic website services: recording reading preferences and recommending Singapore REITs, Hong Kong stocks, U.S. stocks, Federal Reserve macro updates, and Asia-Pacific market news;
Customer service: replying to WhatsApp, emails, and messages, and handling quote corrections and infringement complaints;
Platform operations optimization: analyzing sitewide traffic and popular REIT section data to adjust news update frequency;
Website security: blocking crawlers, spam messages, and accounts that violate traffic-routing rules;
Fulfilling legal obligations: cooperating with Mainland China, Singapore, and Hong Kong regulators in lawfully retrieving information;
Subscription delivery: daily REIT market review emails, which you may unsubscribe from or revoke at any time.
3. Information storage and security protection mechanisms
Storage region rules
Data of Mainland China users is stored on compliant servers in mainland China; Hong Kong user data is stored separately; Singapore user data is stored separately in accordance with the PDPA. We will never transfer data across borders without written permission from both parties; if cross-border storage is required in the future, we will make a prior public announcement and obtain separate authorization.
Data retention periods
Cookies and browsing logs: retained for 180 days and then automatically cleared;
Messages, submissions, business, subscription, and inquiry records: retained for 3 years after business completion, then anonymized and deleted upon expiry;
User requests for data deletion: all related records will be deleted within 15 working days.
Security measures
Sitewide SSL-encrypted transmission, tiered personnel access permissions, and limited access to user information by authorized operations and customer service staff only; regular vulnerability inspections and information-leak emergency drills. The internet inherently carries security risks, so please properly safeguard your private communication accounts.
4. Rules for information sharing and disclosure
We strictly prohibit the commercial sale or rental of any user personal information;
Only three compliant sharing scenarios are permitted:
① after obtaining your written authorization, we may simultaneously submit your content to partner financial platforms;
② disclosure as required by law under the laws and regulations of the three regions and judicial documents;
③ in the event of a platform merger or asset transfer, user information will be transferred accordingly, and the successor must comply with this policy; if the purpose changes, your consent must be obtained again;
Only de-identified anonymous traffic statistics are disclosed externally, and no individual can be identified.
5. Users’ statutory rights
Right of access: send an email to privacy@sgxreit.com to request a copy of all your personal information;
Right to correction: if your contact details or messages are incorrect, you may submit materials to request correction;
Right to deletion: you may request deletion of all personal data at any time; the request will be completed within 15 working days;
Right to withdraw authorization: disable Cookies or cancel email subscriptions;
Right to complain: email complaints will receive a response within 7 working days; in Mainland China, complaints may be filed with the cyberspace authority; in Singapore, rights may be asserted under the PDPC; in Hong Kong, complaints may be filed with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
6. Minors’ privacy protection
This site is intended for adult cross-border investors and does not provide REIT or overseas stock investment information to persons under 18 years of age. Minors should not submit personal information; if a guardian discovers retained records, please contact us and we will delete them immediately.
7. Policy update notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice in accordance with the laws and regulations of Mainland China, Singapore, and Hong Kong. After updates, the effective date will be marked at the top of the homepage; continued browsing constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If there are material changes to collection or cross-border transfer rules, we will notify users separately by email and WhatsApp.
